Simple Migration is a tool that allows you to select the database that will be accessed by the payment application.

*Before you run Simple Migration, you should know where the database file(db4.mb) is or where you want to place it.


1. Log into the Company File as admin.

2. Go to Company > Charge Anywhere > Support. Click 'Run Simple Migration’.

3. A payment application window will appear that states “Welcome to the Payment Application Installer…” Click Next.

4a. If using a previously installed database:

  • Select Yes for the first question: “Was the payment application previously installed…”
  • At the bottom, click the box to the right of Server Location to browse for the location of db4.mdb. Select it and click open.

4b. If creating a new database:

  • Select No for the first question: “Was the payment application previously installed…”
  • Choose appropriate answer for “How many workstations run the QuickBooks application?” (If 1 is selected, the db4 file will be located in C Drive > Charge Anywhere > Payment Application. Proceed to Step 5)
  • If ‘more than 1’ was selected, click the box to the right of Server Location to browse for a shared drive to place the db4. Select the folder and click OK. For easy reference, we recommend placing the db4 in the same folder as the QuickBooks company file.

5. Click Next. Then click Finish.
