Branding errors occur when necessary images of the payment application are not accessible. It normally occurs upon opening QuickBooks for the first time after installation. Once you receive a branding error, QuickBooks will need to be force closed. To resolve, follow the steps below.

1. When the error message appears on the screen, take note of the file name that is being used by another process. You will need to locate that file shortly.

2. Open a task manager and click on the processes tab. Click on image name to sort alphabetically and look for ‘ChargeAnywhereWrapper.exe’ and ‘QBW32.exe’. Highlight and end each process.

3. Go to C Drive > Charge Anywhere > Payment Application > Res

4. Cut the file stated in the error. Paste it outside of the Res folder in the Payment Application folder.

5. Reopen QuickBooks and log in as admin user. If error persists, restart the computer.
