Internal Error

The payment application is unable to recognize the selected database file (db4.mdb). Possible reasons for the error include:

If the selected database file (db4.mdb) is correct, the permissions needed for the program to operate may be insufficient.

If your database file has not been moved or deleted

1. Verify that the plug-in path listed is the correct location of the payment application database (db4.mdb) and click Reconnect.

*If error persists, ensure that the database files permissions are set to full control for the current user logged in.

2. Go to the location of the database file listed in the plug-in path.

3. Right click on the db4.mdb file and select Properties.

4. Click on the security tab and ensure that the user has Full Control. Once full control is granted, select Reconnect in the Internal Error window.

If your database file has been moved

1. Select Run Simple Migration.

2. Click Next on the Payment Application Installer.

3. Select Yes for "Was the Payment Application previously installed on this or another workstation?"

4. Click the box to the right of server location and browse for the new location of the database.

*Please note, the browse feature will start at the default database. Do not select this database if you are using a networked database in another location.

If your database file has been deleted

1. Go to C > CHARGE Anywhere > Payment Application.

2. Copy the db4.mdb file that resides there and paste it in the location listed in the Plug-In Path field.

*If you do not have a db4.mdb file in the Payment Application folder, you will need to reinstall the payment application and select No when asked "Was the Payment Application previously installed on this or another workstation?"

3. Run Change QB File ID to reset using the new database. You will need to reenter Setup values on this and other workstations using the payment application.

If you selected an incorrect database

If the plug-in path is blank

Ensure the correct database permissions

1. Go to the location of the database file listed in the plug-in path.

2. Right click on the db4.mdb file and select Properties.

3. Click on the security tab and ensure that the user has Full Control. Once full control is granted, select Reconnect in the Internal Error window.

Ensure the correct integrated app permissions

1. Log into QuickBooks as admin user and switch to single user mode. (Single User Mode can be located under the File menu in QuickBooks.)

2. Go to Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications > Company Preferences.

3. Highlight CHARGE Anywhere and click properties. Ensure that the first and last opion are selected, which are "Yes, whenever this QuickBooks company file is open” and “Allow this application to access personal data such as Social Security Numbers and customer credit card information” respectively.
